Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB)

Section 43 of The Care Act 2014, requires the local authority to set up a Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB). Richmond’s has been in existence for many years but now exists on a statutory basis.

About the SAB

The SAB is a multi-agency partnership with a wide ranging membership of representatives from statutory, independent and voluntary organisations.

The Board maintains consistent, cohesive partnership working by co-ordinating local partnership arrangements, to safeguard adults from harm.

This is a requirement of the London multi-agency policy and procedures(pdf, 1648KB).

The SAB agreed the 2015/16 Annual Report(pdf, 1125KB) at its meeting on 15 September 2016.
