Services for people who are deaf, deafened or hard of hearing

We provide specialist support for people with a hearing loss and their families, and carers. Services include:

  • Access to a Support Worker trained in British Sign Language (BSL) to Level 3
  • Access to a Interpreter Service including British Sign Language, Deafblind, Lipspeakers, speech to text and other languages (we need 2 to 4 weeks notice to arrange this)
  • Assessment for the provision of specialist equipment (including equipment to amplify the television or home, or alert you to the doorbell, fire alarm, or alarm clock)
  • General advice and information relating to hearing loss
  • A Resource Centre where you can view and purchase specialist equipment. Please contact us to make an appointment

You can contact the Sensory Services Team between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Duty hours are Monday and Thursday morning between 9.30am and 12.30pm when we can guarantee someone will be available to take referrals and provide information and advice.
