From April 2015 nurseries, preschools and childminders will be able to claim some extra funding (called Early Years Pupil Premium or EYPP). They will be able to claim this for some three and four year olds receiving Early Education Funding in their setting if a family meets at least one of the below criteria.
Family is in receipt of one of the following:
or their child:
*Looked after means taken into the care of the local authority
The extra funding will be paid directly to childcare providers and is to help them raise the quality of children's early education in their setting.
It is up to the childcare provider to plan the most effective way of using this money to promote children's learning experience and they will have to demonstrate that they have done this when they are inspected by Ofsted.
Your childcare provider or school nursery will be responsible for gathering information from families to allow the local authority to check if any families meet the criteria. You might be asked for some information to enable them to do this.
Please help by providing the information you are asked for so that children in the setting do not miss out on this opportunity.
