RingGo cashless parking

RingGo is a quick, easy to use mobile phone service, which lets you pay for your parking with a credit or debit card, rather than using cash at a machine.

What is RingGo?

When you park your car in an area featuring the RingGo service, you simply contact RingGo by and pay for your parking using your mobile phone.

*Civil Enforcement Officers can check on their handheld units, to see which vehicles are parked with RingGo.

How to register

It is free to register with the RingGo service. You can pre-register with RingGo, or you can simply register at the time you wish to park.

Pre-register

To pre-register either:

You will need to have:

  • the vehicle registration, colour and make of your vehicle;
  • a mobile phone number; and
  • your payment card details.

You can also pre-book parking sessions up to 90 days in advanced.

How to use

Once you are registered you can begin to use the service. There are several ways you can book a parking session, simply choose the one which is easiest for you.

RingGo app

You can use the RingGo app to book a parking session on either your iPhone/iPad or Android device.

The details you gave when you registered will be stored in the app and you simply need to follow the on-screen instructions to book a parking session.

You will need to confirm:

  • the 4-digit 'location number', which appears on the parking sign close to the bay where you wish to park;*
  • the duration you wish to park for; and
  • the 3-digit security number on the back of your payment card.

*If you have location services enabled on your device, you can search for your nearest RingGo parking zone automatically.

Telephone line

To book a parking session using the telephone line, simply call 020 3046 0010 (you must have caller ID enabled on your handset).

RingGo will recognise your details if you call from the mobile phone number you registered with.

You will need to confirm:

  • your vehicle details;
  • the 4-digit 'location number', which appears on the parking sign close to the bay where you wish to park;*
  • the duration you wish to park for; and
  • the 3-digit security number on the back of your payment card.

Text/SMS

You must have registered with RingGo and added the vehicle you wish to park to use the 'Text To Park' service.

You need to send a text message to '81025' in the correct format which includes:

  • the 4-digit 'location number', which appears on the parking sign close to the bay where you wish to park;*
  • the duration you wish to park for; and
  • the 3-digit security number on the back of your payment card.

Example:

  • If you text "5314 2h 867" to 81025, this will book a 2 hour parking session for your registered vehicle in our Bennet Close Car Park (location number 5314).

Online

To book a parking session online, simply login at MyRingGo and follow the on-screen instructions.

You will need to confirm:

  • the 4-digit 'location number', which appears on the parking sign close to the bay where you wish to park;
  • the duration you wish to park for; and
  • the 3-digit security number on the back of your payment card.

Pre-booking

You can pre-book parking sessions up to 90 days in advanced either online or through the RingGo app. Pre-booking does not guarantee a parking space and you should check the parking enforcement times (or car park opening times), before completing your booking.

Costs

Parking sessions are bought in minutes and cost the same as our equivalent Pay and Display parking tariffs. You will be asked the length of time you would like to park for and the system works out the total cost (dependant on the rates at that location).

Calls

All calls to the RingGo service are charged at a local rate (this will be free for many users depending on your mobile phone plan).

Texts

If you use the RingGo “text to park” option, you will pay for the text message at your agreed operator rate (this will be free for many users depending on your mobile phone plan).

When you book a parking session you will receive a confirmation text. You will also receive a text message to alert you when your parking session is due to run out. Both texts will be charged at 25p per text. You can choose not to receive these texts at any time, by logging into your RingGo account and changing your settings.

Extending a session

Unlike normal parking sessions, you can top-up your parking fee remotely, when you use RingGo. This service is available either online, via the RingGo app, or by calling the telephone line.

You will need to confirm:

  • how long you wish to extend; and
  • the 3-digit security number on the back of your payment card.

When extending a session you will not allow you to extend your stay beyond the maximum stay of the bay (this will be indicated on the parking sign located close to the bay). If there is a limit, or no return inside of an hour, you will not be able to pay for more parking until an hour has passed.
