In the 2015 London Youth Games Team Richmond secured 2nd place in the final Jubilee Trophy standings and amassed a total of 1133 points to ensure another podium finish.
There were some brilliant team and individual performances throughout the London Youth Games, starting with Cross Country back in November 2014, all the way through to the Finals Weekend at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on 4 and 5 July. Team Richmond secured 34 top 10 finishes across the competitions which took place all over London, winning 138 individual medals along the way.
Notable performances included the Rowing, Canoe Slalom, Canoe Sprint and Girls Swimming teams, who conquered their respective competitions, winning Gold and each adding 50 crucial points to the overall leaderboard. The Indoor Rowing and Boys Cross Country teams won Silver medals and the Archery, Boys Athletics and Girls Cross Country teams also made their way onto the podium, by securing Bronze medals. The Boccia, ParaGames Athletics and ParaGames Swimming teams all contributed valuable points with finishes in the top 10.
As well as coming second overall, Team Richmond won the Regatta trophy, which combines the results from the Canoe Sprint and Slalom, Rowing and Sailing.
Team Richmond celebrated the success of the Games at their annual presentation evening at The Stoop, home to their sponsors Harlequins. The evening celebrated the achievements of participants, team managers, volunteers and more, with medals and trophies presented by Harlequins Centre Harry Sloan and former Team Richmond participants Maddie Edwards (Handball) and Rory Atkins (Cross Country, Aquathlon and Cycling).
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Games and a big thank you to all of the participants, team managers, parents, clubs, schools, volunteers and supporters who have made this year a great success.
