The Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon takes place over the final three miles of the London Marathon course and is for young people aged 11 to 17.
The next race will take place on Sunday 23 April 2017.
If you are aged between 11 and 17 years, live or go to school in the borough and would like to take part in the Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon along part of the Virgin London Marathon course then you can apply to be part of our team.
Age categories for 2017:
You will need to complete a 5k parkrun event* between Saturday 31 December 2016 and Saturday 25 February 2017. We will take your fastest time between and including these two dates.
We advise parents/carers to remain onsite during the race. Please note, the terms and conditions of parkrun state that children under the age of 11 years old are the responsibility of their parents or guardians and need to be accompanied at all times before, during and after the run.
Register to complete a parkrun online no later than the 6pm the Friday before you want to run.
* There are four parkruns in the borough, Bushy Park, Crane Park, Old Deer Park and Richmond Park. Events take place every Saturday at 9am. Please do not forget to bring your barcode with you as we cannot accept times that are not official registered with the correct barcode.
Complete the Richmond Mini Marathon online form by Sunday 26 February 2017, late entries will not be accepted.
The Sports Development Team will select the six fastest male and six female athletes in each category to represent Richmond on Sunday 23 April 2017. We will contact qualifying athletes by email during the week commencing 27 February 2017.
The race is a championship event for young wheelchair athletes and open to young people all over the UK in age category races: under 14 & under 17.
Must be aged over 11 and under 18 on 23 April 2017.
The entry criteria requires participants must be able to self propel themselves over three miles within the time limit of 45 minutes. Competitors must wear a helmet and gloves and can either use a standard or racing chair.
