East Sheen CPZ consultation

In July 2008, the Council consulted residents and businesses within the existing East Sheen controlled parking and in the Elm Road area west of the existing CPZ on proposals to reduce the operational hours of the CPZ and to extend the CPZ into the Elm Road area.

The results of the consultation showed insufficient support for these two proposals. These results were reported to the Transport Consultative Group (TCG) in September 2008. The Cabinet Member for Traffic, Transport and Parking approved the recommendation not to proceed with the reduction in hours of control or to extend the zone.

However, the Cabinet Member approved proposals to introduce 33 shared-use parking areas (permit holder/pay and display, maximum 4 hours) in the CPZ, as well as the implementation of no waiting “at any time” restrictions (double yellow lines) because of the safety concerns at junctions in the Elm Road/Leinster Avenue area.
