Borough Spending Plans for Transport

Borough Spending Plans for Transport (BSPs) are the vehicle by which Transport for London (TfL) provides funding to Boroughs, sub-regional partnerships and cross-borough initiatives. Boroughs are required to make a submission by 22 July 2005. It is expected that TfL will make an announcement of supported schemes in November 2005.

Richmond upon Thames bid for this year is aimed at tackling traffic congestion, improving road/ footway maintenance, optimising the safe use of road space and continuing to maintain the current downward trend in road casualties. Bids have been compiled in each category providing the location, details of the proposed bid and commentary on how the bid links with the Richmond Local Transport Strategy, ”A Clear Road Ahead” and initiatives including Civic Pride and Arcadia. A full copy of the bid document is available to Members and a copy is provided in their reading room.
