Climate Change Summit

This autumn, we are holding two climate change action summits where you can come and help protect our borough’s future.

About the summits

As part of our Community Conversation programme, we want you to help us shape our climate change and air quality strategies. We want your ideas about how we can reduce our carbon footprint and support the community to also take action.

We believe that all residents in the borough need to take action against climate change.

Main Climate Change Summit

Summit details:

  • Date: Saturday 19 October 2019
  • Time: 12 noon to 5pm
  • Location: Central Twickenham venue to be confirmed when attendees are finalised

The summit will include:

  • Presentations from the Leader of the Council, Gareth Roberts, and the Youth Parliament Member, Joe Crabtree
  • Interactive workshops hosted by local groups and organisations, discussing the key areas set out in the strategy
  • A marketplace showcasing local groups and organisations involved in protecting our borough against climate change

A light lunch will be provided (vegan-friendly) and attendees will be asked to bring along their own water bottles. Water jugs will be available.

Applications are now being reviewed. If you have applied to attend the summit, we will get back to you soon to confirm if you have been selected to attend.

Youth Climate Change Summit

On Wednesday 16 October 2019, we will host a Youth Climate Change Summit, inviting young people aged 11 to 17 years old via their schools to come and help shape our future strategy. All secondary schools have been invited to send nine young people and one teacher to the event.

The summit will be hosted by the Leader of the Council and the Youth Parliament Member/s of the Youth Council.
