The 2021 Community Heroes Awards is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the people in your local community who go above and beyond to make a difference. There are 10 award categories that you can nominate for:

  • Young person achievement
  • Trustee of the year
  • Business contribution to the community
  • Community group of the year
  • Community project of the year
  • Lifetime achievement
  • Outstanding volunteer
  • Environmental
  • Helping hands
  • Communities together

Read the criteria for each category.

If you know someone who you consider to be a hero, submit your nomination by Thursday 3 February 2022. Video nominations are also accepted this year, and more information about how to submit can be found on our website. Nominees will attend an awards ceremony on 23 March 2022.

Cllr Michael Wilson, Vice Chair of Richmond Council’s Finance, Policy and Resource Committee and Spokesperson for Communities, Equalities & the Voluntary Sector said:

“We really want to make the 2021 Community Heroes Awards a celebration to remember and so we are looking for as many nominations as possible! We have an abundance of selfless and amazing people in this borough, so let's get nominating to make sure that they are recognised and celebrated!”
