Developing weight management services for adults
17 January 2023
We are working to enhance our Tier 2 Adult Weight Management (AWM) Programme, providing focused support for people to lose weight safely.
As part of this, we are looking to explore the experiences of residents living with weight management challenges.
If you are a registered GP patient who is over the age of 18, we would like to hear from you. We want to listen to the community as your opinions are important in deciding how the services are run.
We are asking people to complete a survey, and feedback will help us develop the service requirements.
The Adult Weight Management programme is for adults with a Body Mass Index (BMI) over 30kg/m2. BMI is the most widely used measure of obesity - weight in kilograms divided by height in metres squared.
Weight class |
Body Mass Index (BMI) |
---|---|
Healthy weight | 18.5 kg/m2 to 24.9 kg/m2 |
Overweight | 25 kg/m2 to 29.9 kg/m2 |
Obesity I | 30 kg/m2 to 34.9 kg/m2 |
