How we are supporting Richmond upon Thames through the cost of living crisis

9 January 2023

We have been able to allocate £3m to supporting people in the borough through the financial storm. This means we can deliver frontline support to those in need.

With your continued support, we are able to provide warm spaces at local libraries and youth centres, offering hot drinks, warmth, activities and access to other services. Our network of warm spaces is growing, visit our Warm Spaces Directory to find your nearest warm space.

The demand on the voluntary sectors is high as more people fall into hardship due to the rising cost of living. We have offered £150k of grants to allow community groups to bolster their offering during this difficult period. The voluntary sector is critical to ensuring help gets to every part of our communities.

No one in Richmond upon Thames should have to choose between keeping warm or feeding their family. Thanks to you, we can support local food projects with their ongoing work.

The response to the cost of living crisis is a joint effort across our borough. There are many organisations who play a critical role in supporting those most in need in our communities. These organisations rely on funding to deliver their services and we have been able to help them meet the increased demand.

If you see the red umbrella, please share the information with anyone who may need help or can't get online.

Visit the Richmond Cost of Living Hub to find out what support is available locally. You can also sign up to receive cost of living support updates straight to your inbox.
