The new outdoor gym equipment is suitable for all, including those with mobility issues. The equipment installed includes a double air walker, a chest press, a seated leg press, cross trainer and tai chi spinner.

Those wishing to take part in the training sessions are encouraged to bring a towel, water and lots of energy! The classes are suitable for residents of all abilities, from beginners to those who exercise regularly.

The sessions will take place on Tuesday 29 June at 9.15am, Wednesday 30 June at 11am, Sunday 4 July at 9am and Sunday 4 July at 6pm. All classes will take place at Carlisle Park in Hampton and will be led by qualified personal trainers who will provide attendees with expert advice and helpful tips on how to use the equipment correctly.

The personal training sessions will operate on a first come first served basis with a strictly limited capacity in operation for each training session with social distancing measures in place. Hand sanitisers and wipes will be provided.

Councillor Julia Neden-Watts, Chair of the Environment, Sustainability, Culture and Sports Committee, said:

'We are always looking to improve Richmond upon Thames’ outdoor spaces so that as many people as possible are encouraged to spend time outside and enjoy the benefits of physical activity.

'The new outdoor gym at Carlisle Park has equipment suitable for a wide range of users, and I encourage residents to take advantage of the free personal training sessions to help guide equipment use and aid understanding of how to mobilise and become stronger and healthier.'
