Access free support to stop smoking for good

31 March 2022

Did you know that you are four times more likely to stop smoking for good if you use a local stop smoking service?

Smoking is one of the biggest causes of death and illness in the UK. Every year around 78,000 people in the UK die from smoking. There are an estimated 12,110 adults who smoke in Richmond upon Thames. The Council is reminding smokers that it can help them stub it out for good through its free Stop Smoking Service.

The Stop Smoking Service offers confidential face-to-face and/or telephone advice and support from specialist advisers, as well as stop smoking materials and medication such as Nicotine Replacement Therapy. Over the past year, the service has helped 250 Richmond upon Thames residents quit smoking.

Residents who want to prioritise their health and stop smoking are urged to visit our stop smoking page. You can also contact the service at stopsmokingteam@richmond.gov.uk  or 0800 011 4558.
