Join a free cycle maintenance course next week to learn tips on how to repair your bicycle

16 March 2022

Residents are invited to join one of two free cycle maintenance courses at Lowther School in Barnes and Holy Trinity School in Sheen next week.

Get to know your bicycle, how to set it up and repair it using the right tools. This introductory course will cover the topics of bicycle repairs and maintenance that can be completed at home or when out riding.

The course is meant as a starting block for those unfamiliar with cycle repairs in order to gain the confidence to be able to tackle basic jobs, learn some new skills and pick up tips.

Those attending will learn bike terminology, trouble shooting, set-up and adjustment of a bicycle and how to care for a bicycle for optimal performance and reliable cycling.

The two classes at the Lowther Cycle Hub take place on Tuesday 22 and Tuesday 29 March at 5pm. The Cycle Maintenance Course at the Holy Trinity School Cycle Hub will take place on Wednesday 23 and Wednesday 30 March at 5pm. Both courses are completely free to attend.

The event is being organised by the borough's Healthy Streets Officer. To secure your place, please send an email to raphael.younger@sustrans.org.uk.
