Need help to quit smoking?

You can access the Richmond Stop Smoking Service, which gives smokers who live or work in Richmond upon Thames free help, advice and stop smoking medications.

Smoking causes around 70% of lung cancer cases and increases your risk of coronary heart diseases, heart attack and stroke.The Richmond Stop Smoking Service will offer you a dedicated specialist adviser who will support you with face-to-face and/or telephone advice to guide you through your stop smoking journey. They will offer you:

  • Tips on managing withdrawal symptoms and coping with smoking triggers
  • Regular carbon monoxide checks
  • Accurate information on what to expect when trying to quit and how to deal with difficult situations
  • Access to stop smoking medications and guidance on using these
  • Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT)
