Can you help Richmond AID's Benefits team?

Community news on behalf of Richmond AID | 8 November 2022

Richmond AID are in search of volunteers who can support their busy Welfare Benefits team.

This is a great opportunity to learn all about welfare benefits, from finding out about conditions of entitlement to challenging decisions on appeal.

Whether you already have some knowledge and you want to make use of this to help others, or if you have no experience and are keen to learn, this role could provide you with an interesting and challenging volunteering opportunity.

The role will involve supporting Richmond AID service users with applying for Personal Independence Payment, Employment and Support Allowance and Universal Credit. This includes the completing of benefit forms, corresponding with the Department of Work and Pensions and possible appeal work with the Tribunal Service.

The role therefore requires a familiarity with Microsoft Word and a good level of written English. You will also work with the Richmond AID database. This is intense but rewarding and vital work as you will be supporting disabled people to access essential income.

Applications from disabled volunteers, carers and non-disabled volunteers are encouraged.

If you are interested in this volunteering opportunity, would like more information or forms sent out, contact Richmond AID on 020 8831 6070 or email info@richmondaid.org.uk
