The Start Well chapter is made up of the 2019 Children and Young People’s Needs Assessment (CYPNA) which covers children aged 0-18 years. Additional information is from Achieving for Children (AfC) who provide the Richmond Children’s Services on the needs of children and young people and their families.

This chapter discusses under 18 population, prenatal and postnatal health, healthy weight in children, health visiting, social, emotional and mental health needs of children and children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and looked after children. Indicators of population health and well-being among children and young people in Richmond are generally better or similar to the England average.
