Community news on behalf of Discover Twickenham | 22 June 2023

York Street will be closed from London Road to Arragon Road between 8am and 7pm on Saturday 1 July as Out of the Deep Blue comes to Twickenham.

As part of the Arts and Ideas Festival, Discover Twickenham BID are bringing an outdoor family spectacle featuring a 13-foot-tall sea giant puppet and a dancer.

Come down to York Street to experience an interactive walkabout with Eko and a little girl called Violet. The show tells a moving tale about our earth’s climate emergency told through dance, movement and masterful puppeteering.

Show times are 11.30am, 2pm and 4.30pm including a half an hour promenade around the local streets leading to a static performance back on York Street.

York Street will be closed for this spectacular performance, bringing the action right into the centre of Twickenham. It is the focal point of the A Taste of Twickenham event taking place that day.

York Street will be closed from London Road to Arragon Road between 8am and 7pm. The diversion route for traffic will be: London Road, A316 Chertsey Road, St Margarets Road.

With the closure of two bus stops on York Street, TfL buses will divert via Arragon Road/London Road.
