Radio Plays Competition opens for playwrights

Arts Richmond's Radio Plays Competition has returned and is open for writers to enter their short plays by Friday 30 May 2025.

The competition welcomes all local writers, regardless of experience. Submit your short play for a chance to share your story and let your creativity shine!

Finalists will be asked to record their play with such recordings to be sent to Arts Richmond by 29 August 2025. The overall winner, as decided by panel of judges, will be presented with the Colin Skipp Arts Richmond Radio Play Trophy and will receive a prize of £100 at the Arts Richmond Drama Party on 20 September 2025.

Entry criteria:

  • The play must be original, unpublished, and previously unperformed
  • The writer must live or study in the borough
  • The play must be no longer than 15 minutes maximum performance time
  • The play should require no more than 4 actors
