Enjoy Monteverdi’s timeless opera

Community news on behalf of Richmond Opera | 15 April 2025

This April, Richmond Opera will stage Claudio Monteverdi’s Orfeo, one of the earliest operas, at the Normansfield Theatre in Teddington.

This classic opera is all about the power of love and music.

On their wedding day, Orfeo and Euridice revel in the joy of their love. But their happiness is shattered when Euridice is fatally bitten by a snake. Orfeo, fuelled by passion and armed only with the power of his music, resolves to journey into the Underworld to bring back his beloved.

Conducted by Lindsay Bramley and directed by Patricia Gómez, this production features the Richmond Opera Baroque Orchestra, soloists, and chorus.

Come along to enjoy a timeless tale of love and determination!
