Richmond students celebrate GCSE results

22 August 2024

We extend our congratulations to students in Richmond upon Thames who received their GCSE results today.

This year’s GCSE results reflect the continued hard work and dedication of students across the borough, with local performance remaining strong in most subjects.

Councillor Penny Frost, Chair of the Education and Children’s Services Committee, said: “Well done to all the students who collected their GCSE results today. The resilience and hard work demonstrated over the past few years have truly paid off. The results we see today reflect the dedication of our young people, their teachers and the support of their families. While this year’s results may not have been what some hoped for, it’s important to recognise the extraordinary efforts made under tough conditions. Every student should be proud of their accomplishments, and I encourage them to look ahead to the next steps in their journey.”

We remain committed to supporting students during this transition period. For those feeling stressed or anxious about their results, we encourage young people to access the free, safe, and anonymous online support available at Kooth.

For students who did not receive the grades they hoped for, we offer support through Achieving for Children via the Summer Support helpline. You can talk to a qualified careers adviser on 07540 156905 or 07864 612857.
