Share your thoughts on the new Night Time Strategy

6 August 2024

Following extensive public engagement and collaboration with local partners, we have launched the first draft of the strategy and are eager for resident feedback.

The Night Time Strategy aims to boost the night-time experience in Richmond upon Thames, ensuring our borough remains vibrant, safe and inclusive from 6pm to 6am.

This strategy is the result of co-creation with our community, involving consultations with residents, businesses, night-time economy workers and community groups. Your thoughts so far on safety, accessibility, cultural activities and the needs of night workers have been invaluable.

Over the past few months, we have gathered insights through initiatives like the 'Time to Shine Ideas Map,' which saw over 400 residents take part. We have also conducted workshops with young people and led meetings with businesses and various community groups to capture a wide range of perspectives and priorities.

The draft strategy addresses several key areas, including:

  • Improving safety in our town centres
  • Supporting the night-time economy
  • Expanding cultural and recreational opportunities
  • Respecting the need for quiet in the evenings

It aims to cater to all demographics to make sure that Richmond upon Thames is a place where everyone can enjoy their evenings and nights.

We are now seeking your feedback to ensure that this strategy reflects the community's needs. The consultation will run until Monday 30 September 2024 and we encourage all residents, businesses, local organisations and visitors to take part and share their views.

Join us in this important conversation and help refine the Night Time Strategy to better serve our community. Together, we can create a night-time environment that is welcoming, safe, and full of opportunities.

By building on our borough’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant community, we can shape the future of Richmond upon Thames.

Take part in the strategy
