Community news on behalf of Age UK Richmond | 21 August 2026

Age UK Richmond offer a low-cost handyperson service for over 65s, unpaid carers and those with long-term disabilities.

The service is designed to help and keep older and vulnerable people living independently and safely at home, by delivering minor adaptations and repairs.

There is no joining fee. Work is charged at £35 an hour plus materials, or £20 an hour plus materials for older people in receipt of Pension Credit, Housing Benefit or Carer's Allowance.

There is also a reduced rate for the supply and fit of keysafes for those who qualify for these benefits.

The warm and friendly team of handymen are all DBS checked, carry ID and can help a number of household tasks. Find out more about available services.

To book an appointment, contact Age UK's Home Services team (Monday to Friday). Call 020 3326 9432 or email handyperson@ageukrichmond.org.uk.
