The Creative Wellbeing Project announce online course for expectant mums

Community news on behalf of The Collective Arts Group CIC | 13 February 2024

The Collective Arts Group is delighted to announce that with generous backing from The National Lottery’s Community Fund and The Richmond Borough Active Fund, 50 fully grant-funded places on The Creative Wellbeing Project will be open to pregnant women.

This distinctive programme, which integrates art therapy with creative activities and positive psychology (the science of human thriving), is crafted to refuel the wellbeing of expecting mothers, foster a supportive community, and enrich the pregnancy experience.

Julia Ruppert, an HCPC registered Art Therapist and the course facilitator said: “Pregnancy marks a profound period of change in a woman’s life, and while it is often a joyful time, it can also bring fears and worries.

"We find that supporting women to take time out for themselves and embrace a calm and positive mindset helps lay solid foundations for their perinatal journey.”

In collaboration with West Middlesex University Hospital, The Creative Wellbeing Project is now entering its 4th year. Encouraged by participant recommendations, the programme is now seeking to expand its reach. Beyond the grant-funded option, women can also choose to ‘pay their experience forward’ by self-funding their course or contributing through a donation.

Each live online course spans five weeks and accommodates up to 10 participants for a 1.5-hour session each week. Additionally, every participant will receive a free art kit delivered to their door.

You can view the 2024 online course dates. To learn more about The Creative Wellbeing Project and how to get involved, visit the Collective Arts website or contact Julia Ruppert at hello@collective-arts.org
