Looking for half-term activities with your children? Join Barnes Common Ltd for a series of outdoor activities that connect you with nature.

Monthly Yaffles Nature Club

Family groups of adults and young people aged 3 to 9 years old are invited to join this monthly club getting out and about exploring the wonderful outdoors at Barnes Common. Join the group to learn about the wildlife around us, how to recognise it, how it changes over the year, how we can protect it, and more.

  • Date: Saturday 15 February 2025 (on the third Saturday of February, March, April and May)
  • Time: 10.30am to 12pm
  • Price: £2 for children - accompanying adults can attend for free 
  • Location: Vine Road Recreation Ground, Barnes, SW13 0NE

Free family-friendly growing session

All residents, including younger children, are welcome to this free event. Participants will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty with lots of different gardening activities. All tools and equipment are provided – just wear suitable clothing for the weather.

Bird box building workshop

Designed for older kids aged 10 and above, this workshop provides a great opportunity to try their hand at some DIY while also helping wildlife. Come along and build your own bird nesting box in time for this year’s nesting season.

  • Time: 10.30am to 12.30pm
  • Price: £15 for 1 young person and 1 adult, includes all materials
