Barnes care home celebrates 'Good' CQC rating
Community news on behalf of Viera Gray House | 7 July 2025
Not-for-profit care home Viera Gray House has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas by the care regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC inspection commended the home for its safety, effectiveness, responsiveness, and leadership – all supported by a caring and dedicated team. The report highlighted a warm, inclusive environment where residents feel respected, listened to and well supported.
This success reflects the work of the team at Viera Gray House to transform the quality of care and build trust with residents, families and the wider community following a ‘Requires Improvement’ rating in 2023. Along with a change of manager and senior staff, the home has also had additional staff training, enhanced care planning and a renewed focus on personalised, compassionate care.
Shubhes Shrestha, Home Manager at Viera Gray House, said: “We listened, we learned and we acted – always with our residents at the heart of everything we do. This rating reflects our belief that care should make people feel safe, valued and good about life. We will continue to build on the gains and ensure the home continues to be a vibrant place, connected with our Richmond community.”
Viera Gray House, which offers high-quality residential and dementia care, has for some time ranked as the number 1 not-for-profit home care home in Richmond, based on independent reviews on Carehome.co.uk. As part of leading not-for-profit care group Greensleeves Care, the home offers unique assurances including a Home for Life commitment, which means no resident is asked to leave in the event their funds run out while in care.
