Discover refugee support networks within the borough

Refugee Week, taking place between 17 to 23 June, aims to celebrate the contributions, creativity and resilience people seeking sanctuary.

The theme this year is ‘Our Home’ and is about extending warmth and hospitality beyond our own homes to make our community welcoming to those affected by forced migration. 

There are events and support networks available to residents across the borough. 

Ivana Kupala celebrations

The Ukrainian Social Club is celebrating the Ukrainian festival of Ivana Kupala through traditional wreath workshops, live music performances and food and drinks.

Refugees Welcome in Richmond

Refugees Welcome in Richmond (RWinR) provides befriending and language support and assistance in finding accommodation to people fleeing conflicts, or persecution around the world, who arrive in Richmond.

Multicultural Richmond

Multicultural Richmond organises a range of initiatives to help ethnic monitory groups to settle into the areas they live. They offer one-to-one digital support sessions, English classes and multicultural activities, assisting residents to develop skills, become more employable and self-sufficient, and thrive in the wider community.
