Free NPLQ lifeguard training available this summer

This summer, we are again offering free lifeguard training opportunities to residents over 16 years old.

Interested residents can apply to obtain their National Pool Lifeguard Qualification free of charge, which would normally cost around £300.

In return, once qualified, we want you to join our lifeguarding team at Pools on the Park working casual weekday shifts during term time.

95% of all pool lifeguards in the UK are qualified through the NPLQ, which complies with industry requirements and is an internationally recognised qualification that can be a great stepping-stone to a career in the leisure industry.

NPLQ courses will be held at Pools on the Park in Richmond on the following dates:

• Monday 14 to Friday 18 July 2025, 9am to 6.30pm
• Monday 21 to Friday 25 July 2025, 9am to 6.30pm
• Monday 28 July to Friday 1 August 2025, 9am to 6.30pm
• Monday 11 to Friday 15 August 2025, 9am to 6.30pm
