Drop in and have your say on the proposed Beverley Brook restoration
24 March 2025
Do you use Barnes Green? This March and April, the Community BlueScapes project team is inviting anyone who uses the Green to meet them on the site and share their thoughts about proposed changes to part of this space in 2025.
We have been working together with our Community BlueScapes partners WWT and Barnes Common Ltd to mitigate flood risks to the people living in areas close to the Beverley Brook.
To support residents to enjoy Barnes Green year-round and tackle climate risks like flooding with natural solutions, Community BlueScapes is spearheading restoration projects across the catchment to help restore the Beverley Brook to its natural state. This restoration project is set to transform this popular green space into a resilient, vibrant and ecologically diverse community space.
If you are a resident or regular user of Barnes Green, you can find out more about the restoration project directly from the Community BlueScapes team and share your views at a series of upcoming drop-in sessions on the Green:
- Sunday 30 March, 10am to 3pm
- Wednesday 2 April, 9am to 12pm
- Thursday 3 April, 3.30 to 7.30pm
- Saturday 10 May, 10am to 2pm
On all of these occasions, the team's stall will be placed at Barnes Green south side, near the willow trees.
Find out more about the Barnes Green restoration project and proposed works, as well as how you can contact the team with any questions, on the Community BlueScapes project site.
