Richmond Gymnastics Association’s acrobats to represent Great Britain

Between 10 and 20 April, 11 Richmond gymnasts will represent Great Britain at the Age Group and European Championships in Luxembourg.
Acrobats from Richmond Gymnastics Association (RGA) will proudly showcase their spectacular sport at the upcoming championships.
European Championships (16 to 20 April):
- Senior Women’s Group: Michaela Cook, Amber Harvey and Chiara Linden
- Senior Men’s Group: Louis Alexander, Freddie Turner, Rex Booth and Samuel Ditchburn
- Senior Mixed Pair: Toby Cooper-Driver and Leela Ramini
Junior and Age Group Championships (10 to 14 April):
- 12-18 Age Group, Mixed Pair: Christoph Tilroe and Louisa Szalacsi
Melanie Sanders, RGA’s Head of Acrobatics said, “We are thrilled to see our gymnasts being recognised for their hard work and commitment with this selection to represent Great Britain at the Europeans. It is an honour we truly value.”
She continued, “It is also the first time we have three partnerships competing at the highest senior level internationally, and we take great pride in their commitment and dedication, balancing training with work or studies.”
Chiara, who moved from another club last year, is competing internationally with RGA for the first time as top of the Senior Women’s Group. She commented, “I’m really excited to be representing Great Britain and I can’t wait to go to Luxembourg with Team GB and Team Richmond!”
Rex, a seasoned competitor, and the reigning 2024 British Champion and 2023 European Champion, commented, “We’re excited to compete and are focussed on our skills and routines. We’re also looking forward to going altogether and representing Richmond as a strong unit within Team GB.”
Louisa said, “I’m so happy to be representing Great Britain again, as I really enjoyed the experience at the World Championships last year.”
Melanie concluded, “We anticipate a challenging yet enjoyable European Championships and strongly encourage our gymnasts to enjoy this experience.”
Founded in 1992, Richmond Gymnastics Association is a local charity delivering gymnastics to over 1500 children and young people in the borough.
