Local school takes initiative for cleaner streets

Community news on behalf of Trafalgar Schools | 25 March 2025

Trafalgar Schools Federation has undertaken some proactive steps to address the pressing issue of dog fouling around the school premises.

Trafalgar Schools' students have channelled their creativity into crafting colourful posters designed to raise awareness about responsible pet ownership and the importance of keeping streets clean. These posters are proudly displayed around the school premises and local community areas.

Year 1 infant children have been actively involved in making placards and demonstrating outside the school. Their enthusiasm and dedication serve as a gentle reminder to pet owners about their responsibilities.

Further to past clean-up efforts by the Council, Trafalgar Schools are campaigning for the Council's continued support in reducing dog mess around the school. They have contacted the local MP Munira Wilson to canvass her support for creating a safer environment for children.

As an integral part of our community, Trafalgar Schools are committed to ensuring a clean and safe environment for school children and the wider community. They urge all members of the community to remain vigilant and report any dog fouling issues to the Council. It is believed that raising awareness among our community will help to achieve significant improvements in the local environment.
