Enjoy a family day out at the Moormead Community Picnic

Community news on behalf of Moormead Community and Sports Pavilion | 29 May 2024

On Sunday 9 June, the Moormead Community and Sports Pavilion (MCSP) charity is hosting an activity-filled picnic in Moormead Park to celebrate the project's success so far and provide updates on the pavilion's upcoming rebuild.

The picnic will take place from 11.30am to 3pm and feature live music from local St Margarets group The Elastic Band, performances by the Marble Hill Dance Studio, face painting, balloon modelling and loads of kids games from Krazy Kidz Entertainment.

MCSP is a local charity dedicated to transforming the derelict building at Moormead Park in St Margarets into a new facility that will enhance the area and be owned and enjoyed by the whole community.

After much initial work on architect designs, surveys, planning permissions and more, and over £150,000 already raised with support from an initial grant from Richmond Council, the project is ready to launch its next phase which includes securing further grants to support the rebuild of the pavilion.

The charity hopes to bring as many members of the community together as possible for a day of fun and learning more about the project. All you need to do is bring a blanket and a picnic!
