Returning next week, the Know Your Place annual heritage festival invites residents to enjoy exciting talks, walks, workshops and more, to celebrate Richmond's fascinating history.
Whether you’re interested in the royal connections across the borough, uncovering layers of local history, or researching the people and places that shaped our communities, there’s something for everyone.

Here are details of some of the events taking place this month.
16 May - A local history society showcase and salon
Meet the passionate local history societies keeping Richmond’s history alive. The event features bite-sized talks packed with new discoveries and recent achievements.

17 May to 7 June - Explore Richmond borough on foot
Discover the borough’s past through a trio of guided walks in Kew, Twickenham Riverside and Richmond. Guided by Richmond Heritage Guides each walk is packed with stories, secrets and local legends.
21 May - Personal Archives, Memory & Identity
This year’s Know Your Place festival also marks the Centenary of York House, with a special exhibition created by students from Richmond upon Thames College in partnership with Nutkhut and York House Society.
Drop in to York House from 5.30 to 7.30 pm on Thursday 21 May.
