Have your say on possible change to our Council Tax Reduction Scheme

We are asking residents to let us know their views on a proposed change to our Council Tax Reduction scheme, which will make support for low income households more stable and predictable. 

The current scheme is means tested, which frequently adjusts as incomes change, meaning it can be difficult for households to plan and budget. The proposed new 'banded' model will allow for some income variation without impacting support levels, simplifying the process and providing steady relief for those with low or fluctuating incomes.

While many households will benefit from changes, some households will be negatively impacted so we encourage everyone currently eligible for the existing scheme to give their views.

The consultation closes on Friday 13 December 2024.
