Local community lends a hand for World Habitats Day

16 October 2024

Last week, local residents joined forces with our Parks team for a series of litter picks across Ham Lands.

Volunteers rolled up their sleeves to help clean up the much-loved green spaces of Ham Lands nature reserve. Alongside the clean-ups, a free talk on the fascinating history of the area gave participants a deeper appreciation of the area – all in celebration of World Habitats Day.

The week of events were organised in partnership with Friends of Ham Lands and Habitats and Heritage, with the Ramblers Wellbeing Walks group opting to take part in a litter pick on one of their regular Wednesday walks.
