Community news on behalf of Habitats & Heritage | 31 October 2024
This November, residents are invited to join Habitats & Heritage in planting bulbs and clearing rubbish at the Kew Road Ha-ha. There will also be a free tour to introduce the area’s history and explain the local charity’s project to preserve the Kew Road Ha-ha.
Bulb planting and conservation session
If you love nature and the outdoors, this one is for you! The volunteering session aims to plant native English flower bulbs along the length of the Kew Road Ha-ha, adding a splash of colour in spring and supporting early bumblebees as they forage for nectar. Volunteers will also clear some of the bramble from the ha-ha to allow the archaeology work to take place in spring. Please wear layered clothing, robust footwear, bring your waterproofs and a drink.
