Working towards a more inclusive borough
9 October 2026
Councillor Maureen Goldthorpe, Richmond's new Interfaith and Belief Champion, shares her vision for strengthening connections between residents, faith communities, voluntary sector organisations, local groups and partner agencies across the borough.
She highlights the importance of promoting understanding, tackling prejudice and hate crime, and ensuring everyone feels respected, included and able to contribute. Councillor Goldthorpe also invites residents and local groups to share their ideas, initiatives and events as part of building a more welcoming and inclusive borough.
Recently, she engaged with local groups at the Richmond Faith and Belief Forum and the Richmond Voluntary Sector Networking Event, strengthening links with faith, community and voluntary organisations across the borough.
