Arts Richmond reveal finalists for the New Plays Festival 2024

Community news on behalf of Arts Richmond | 20 September 2024

On Sunday 13 October, final shortlisted plays will be brought to life in a staged performance at the Orange Tree Theatre, where the winning script will be announced.

Arts Richmond received 54 submissions for its New Plays Festival this year. After much discussion and deliberation, they have whittled the entries down to four finalists:

  • ‘Sky Horses’ by Patricia Bertram
  • ‘That’s All Folks’ by Jacqueline Hazell
  • ‘The Boot Room’ by Rebecca Mayhew
  • ‘Common Ground’ by Dominic Parford

This shortlisted quartet will be performed in front of an audience and a judging panel of professional theatre practitioners. The judging panel will select the final winning script, and a trophy and prize will be presented to the winning writer at the event.

Don’t miss out on original plays by local playwrights, come along and be part of the occasion!
