Help young people with asthma live their best lives
Community news on behalf of NHS | 3 September 2024
Between 9 to 15 September, the NHS #AskAboutAsthma campaign will be raising awareness about children and young people’s asthma and how air pollution can trigger attacks.
This year’s campaign theme is ‘helping children and young people with asthma to live their best lives’, and focuses on good asthma control to reduce or eradicate symptoms.
There are four simple measures families and those involved in young people’s care can take to help them control their asthma:
- Get an asthma action plan in place
- Understand how to use inhalers correctly
- Schedule an asthma review – every year, and after every attack
- Consider air pollution and lung health
Throughout the week, there is a schedule of free webinars, podcasts, videos and blogs about different topics.
There is also a free online conference on Thursday 12 September and a free online webinar for schools, parents and carers at 10am on Friday 14 September.
