Take part in the Fairtrade Fortnight

12 September 2024

We’re encouraging residents to get involved in this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight to raise awareness of the farmers behind our food.

Fairtrade is a global movement for change that works directly with businesses, consumers and campaigners to make trade deliver for farmers and workers. By buying Fairtrade approved products you are ensuring decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.

As a Fairtrade Borough, Richmond upon Thames is committed to selling, serving, using and promoting Fairtrade products and this year is extra special because the UK is celebrating 30 years of the Fairtrade movement.

The festival runs until Sunday 22 September and is a great opportunity to learn about and be inspired by the people behind the food we eat.

Find out how you can get involved in Fairtrade.
