Free inclusive Sporting Memories group coming to Kew

30 September 2025

From Wednesday 8 October, our new Sporting Memories group opens its doors to older people experiencing isolation, managing a health condition, or facing other challenges. Join us in a welcoming space designed to boost wellbeing and spark meaningful connections.

Reminisce, replay and reconnect through the power of sport and physical activity with these age-friendly and dementia-friendly sessions. They have been developed by the Council in partnership with Sporting Memories and Richmond Gymnastics Association.

The group provides a forum to chat and share memories about sport, as well as a chance to participate in ‘Love to Move’, a chair-based gymnastics exercise programme developed by the British Gymnastics Foundation.

Come along and enjoy a regular activity away from home that improves your overall wellbeing!

  • Date: every Wednesday from 8 October to 17 December (excluding 29 October)
  • Time: 11.30am to 12.30pm
  • Location: Richmond Gymnastics Association, 1 Townmead Road, Kew, TW9 4EL

To sign up, contact 0208 878 8682 or email rga@richmondgymnastics.co.uk quoting Sporting Memories.

The group is expected to carry on into the new year. Arrangements will be announced closer to the date.

If you are interested in volunteering and supporting these sessions, please contact sportsdevelopment@richmond.gov.uk.
