Weekend works at Teddington Launch Lock

The Environment Agency has announced plans for some additional work at Teddington Launch Lock on 26 and 27 September ahead of scheduled river operations later this year.

While work is progressing well, there are a few key activities that the Environment Agency (EA) need to ensure are completed prior to the Port of London Authorities annual draw off which starts on 1 November 2026.

During the draw off the EA are unable to freely move between the Ham Street compound and their works site on the river due to much lower tides during this time. 

To prevent delays, their contractor is looking at carrying out some weekend working on 26 and 27 September. 

This is likely to comprise the installation of hydraulic pipework and some timber work and it is not expected to contribute any more noise than occurs on the site at the weekend currently. 

The contractor has confirmed there will be no noisy activities, no deliveries are required and there will be minimal interaction with the towpath.
