Community BlueScapes wants to make your ideas about improving the local environment come to life.

Through our Ideas Fund, local people and organisations can suggest projects to reduce flood risk, and increase the ability of local people and the area to adapt to climate change.

The Community Bluescapes team will shortlist proposed projects and local people will be able to vote for the ones they would like to see.

Submit your ideas

With £100,000 available to put towards ideas from local people, we would love to hear them.

You have until Thursday 15 February 2024 submit your ideas through the portal.

Successful applications will focus on:

  • Flood resilience – helping the area prepare for, cope with and recover from flooding.
  • Improve our natural spaces – creating and adapting blue (rivers, ponds and lakes) and green (parks, grasslands and recreational areas) spaces to cope better with extreme weather.
  • Increase community knowledge – sharing information so local people in the area understand the challenges of flooding and climate risk and can protect themselves.
  • Measure project outcomes – monitor how your project combats the effects of flooding and climate change, and improves the environment.
  • Be innovative – trying out and testing new ways of doing things.

All projects must be in the Community BlueScapes project area.
