We awarded funding to organisations working with older residents and carers in the borough to help them host their own celebrations around Silver Sunday and the return of the Full of Life Fair.

London Children’s Ballet Performance for Clients and Carers

The Whitton Network is delighted to host a performance from the London Children's Ballet Company for the clients of Whitton Network at the Whitton Baptist Church Hall. This event is for clients of the Whitton Network, as well as their carers and families, to provide them with an opportunity to connect with each other and the arts.

Uplifting Dance and Wellbeing Workshop

For people over 60 years – join established choreographers for a one-off workshop at the beautiful Orleans House Gallery. Relaxation Afternoon and Refreshments for Carers

Crossroads Care would like to invite local carers to come in for an afternoon of relaxation and refreshments. This event will promote health and wellbeing by having a therapist conduct a variety of yoga sessions and massages on the day, along with offering a healthy lunch and refreshments. An Open Afternoon at ETNA Community Centre

Come along and meet ETNA’s friendly activity organisers and learn about what happens at the centre. Their doors will be open between 2 and 4pm, and all are welcome. There will be taster sessions from 2pm onward, and light refreshments will be provided.

Marble Hill House Tour and Cream Tea

In celebration of Silver Sunday, English Heritage is offering people of over 65 a chance to explore the newly restored Georgian Villa Marble Hill House which is set inside 66 acres of public park land, followed by a delicious cream tea and scone within the Coach House Cafe so that people can get to know each other better over food and drink at the Marble Hill Cafe.

Mortlake Community Association (MCA) Full of Life Fair Social

The MCA run a successful community programme to improve and enhance the lives of the residents of Mortlake. A small team of staff and volunteers provide group activities to suit a variety of interests within the local community. Everyone is welcome and our excellent tutors inspire and encourage the many people who come to us.

The MCA Full of Life Fair Social is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the work of MCA, meet its members, staff, tutors, volunteers, trustees and supporters. A complementary buffet will be provided.

A Talk for Carers: Wisdom to Empower! Insight and Strategies to Improve Your Life

Are you caring for a loved one? Author Sara Challice shares her story of why she, and most carers, fall ill from the stress of caring. She then gives insight and strategies to help you make simple changes to improve your own health and wellbeing – empowering you to enjoy life, even whilst caring. During this invaluable session, there will be slides and a Q&A discussion.

Ham & Petersham SOS Member Outing – Mane Chance Horse Sanctuary

An outing for Ham & Petersham SOS members to Mane Chance Horse Sanctuary in Guildford. They will be providing a picnic lunch for those attending, and the aim of this outing is to decrease social isolation, rekindle friendships, and to provide the opportunity to get out of the local area and to spend some time in the countryside with the horses, dogs and chickens that reside at the sanctuary, as well as to improve the health and wellbeing of members.

Tunes in the Afternoon Acoustic Session

Like your music? Enjoy playing and singing? Then all roads lead to the world famous Cabbage Patch pub, opposite Twickenham Station, where a warm welcome is always guaranteed. Join us for an afternoon of acoustic music. Bring your instrument. Share a song, a story or a poem or just come and listen. There will be a pizza buffet for the peckish. Hope you can make it.

Silver Sunday Dress to the Nines Afternoon

This afternoon of fun and festivity is in collaboration with Age UK and two well-known stylists and beauticians. It’s an opportunity to dress up and even take part in a catwalk, if you’d like! There will be a clothes swap, too. Those who come along should bring one piece of clothing and they can take one home from what the others are bringing. Food, drink and music will be provided!

The Neuro Rehab Practice Exercise and Refreshments Afternoon

A feel-good, fun-filled exercise class tailored to individuals with neurological conditions, run by a Specialist Neuro Physiotherapist and Neuro Personal Trainer. The class will give individuals the opportunity to learn what exercises are beneficial to their individual condition, supporting one another by ending the session with team games. After all the hard work, participants will be able to enjoy a selection of refreshments and the opportunity to get to know one another more.
