Richmond Refugee Week Celebration

Join us for a special evening of community, culture and connection as we celebrate Refugee Week 2025 on Thursday 19 June at York House.

This free, family-friendly event, organised with support from local partners, will feature vibrant cultural performances, food from around the world, and stalls from many local support organisations.

Tending to the Centres

A collaborative art project led by RESOLVE Collective, bringing together local communities, including refugee families and unaccompanied minors, to co-create artworks reflecting their neighbourhoods and lived experiences.

Memory of Birds

An immersive sound installation by Tania El Khoury, where participants relax in cocoon-like hammocks to experience poetic storytelling on migration, trauma, and healing.

Refugee Week celebration evening

Join us for an evening of art, conversation, and Afghan snacks to celebrate Refugee Week. Artists Julia Hall, Samira Kitman, and Rita Piglionica from Turner’s House will share work inspired by people seeking sanctuary in the UK.

Kupala Party

Kupala Party is a vibrant celebration of Ukrainian midsummer traditions, held during Refugee Week and the Summer Solstice. Open to all, the event features live Ukrainian music, a puppet show, artisan market, wreath-making workshops, and food and drink stalls – all in support of Ukrainian refugees in Richmond.

Community Art Swap

Organised by Refugee Action Kingston

Refugee Action Kingston invites everyone to join a creative art exchange for Refugee Week on the theme ‘Community as a Superpower’. Submit artwork for a digital display in any form from poetry to painting, and receive a surprise piece from another participant in July!
