Advertising in public
Guidance on advertising on a public highway or footpath in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.
You may also wish to display information on our community noticeboards.
Tables or stalls on the pavement
You may be able to promote an event or product or hand out flyers using a small table or stall on the pavement.
To apply, you will need to complete a table on the footway application form and return it to us by:
- Email at network.management@richmond.gov.uk
- Post to: Environment Directorate, London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, Network Management, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ.
Requests of a charitable nature are free. For commercial purposes, there is a charge of £540.50 for up to 7 days.
Displaying posters
Posters displayed in the Borough are restricted to advertisements of charitable events.
To apply for permission, you will need to complete a posters on the highway application form (MS Word, 48 KB) (terms and conditions are included) and return to us by:
- Email at network.management@richmond.gov.uk
- Post to: Environment Directorate, London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, Network Management, Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ.
We will provide you with authorised sign stickers to put on each poster. The posters can only be put on street lighting columns and must be removed within three days of the event finishing.
Please note it will take 14 days to process your application from the date we receive your application. We will notify you by letter or email if your application is successful.
Advertising boards
We keep a list of streets in town centres or high streets, where a minimum width of footway is required for advertising boards. We also have a list of streets where advertising boards are not allowed.
