Workforce Race Equality Standard
Our Adult Social Care department is a participant in the first phase of the social care Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES). 18 local authorities took part in this initiative which has previously been adopted by the NHS to address disproportionate outcomes for Black Asian Minority Ethnic staff.
The aim of the WRES is to identify the key areas for social care and create an action plan to address these. Nine metrics were measured looking at career, training and treatment at work and the data has been analysed to identify where action is required.
Action plan
The action plan has been created to address the specific areas requiring support and provide a timeline for action. The action plan includes short term and long term actions and is now available to view online.
As we progress through this action plan we are engaging at all levels to ensure staff voice is included and involved. We look forward to sharing with you as we learn on the way.
