John Bourne exhibition
4 June - 27 August 2011
London-based painter John Bourne creates stunning landscapes, still lifes and combinations representing the changing seasons and times of the day. These contemplative works express the artist’s affinity with the natural world and the human impact on the environment.
This exhibition of 23 new paintings explores the sensual and tactile qualities of paint. Each work is produced using acrylic on wood and Bourne excels in capturing and conveying subtle changes through layering and sanding. The smooth stillness of water is contrasted with the gritty textures of bark, wood, earth and sand.
