Commercial Services enforcement policies
The Commercial Services try to work closely with businesses. However when criminal legislation has been broken it is sometimes necessary to take further action, which may include a prosecution in a criminal court. When this is contemplated it is essential that it is considered in a fair and consistent way.
To this end all our regulatory services have adopted the principles of the Enforcement Concordat, that is, a code of practice, agreed between business, local and central government, which outlines principles of good enforcement.
In addition to this Commercial Services have developed Enforcement Policies, based on the Enforcement Concordat but providing greater detail on the way in which each of those services will consider and progress enforcement matters.

Please note that all Commercial Services Policies are currently under review and will be updated shortly.
